Behind the madcall Twins are Mathew whose stage name is "Markmatthe" and Collins whose stage name is "Qoolcee" seem to have been born with music in their blood. Mathew's father was a guitarist in a Jazz group and Collins mothers was an outstanding vocalist in a church choir known in the region. At just 22 years of age they had 10 years of experience perfecting their vocal skills in Christian’s music with Collins as a choir trainer.
The Madcall Twins started their career proper in 2003 when they released their first single called “Kwenye Dance Floor” which was received well in the clubs of Kisii (club BY), Nakuru (club Coco Savana), Kericho ( Njakimi Club). The twins have evolved to modern secular music with different different tasted including RAGA, Afro Fusion, R&B, Dance Hall addressing the issues of daily Kenyan life. All songs are exclusively written and composed by them. The lyrics are elaborated and well expressed without any trace of vulgality and whether in English, Swahili or Luo the words are chosen personally and carefully to perfect their meaning. They aim that the composition of the words should be like a good poem - bringing in harmonious rhyming. Through the contents of their songs Collins and Mathew express their deep feelings and emotions as they experience daily Kenyan life.
Their new debut album “WOSIA” (The message) contains 12 songs with outstanding messages they send to the world to make people discovering the impact of HIV/AIDS on relations and love between young Africains; The song about orphans gives a voice to more than 1/7 Mio lost children and is a cry out to change the lives of these innocent angels; in their song Mister Pineapple they create awareness of the negative impact of intensive agriculture on the environment and health in Africa promoting organic farming; the song Come Together is a visionary statement in a multicultural society to overcome cultural and racial deference as we all are creations of God.
Mathew is mainly inspired by DJ IKE and DJ SPAXX while Collings musical inspiration comes from Shaggy, Chaka Demus and Pliers. Both had been encourage by Juacali, Pilipili and Clemo.
